The competition had its final games of the group stage this week. Had a bit of time this morning to catch up. Final results and tables, along with the knockout draw, can be viewed here.
A quick summary below.
Group A
Shane and Jack both sat at the top of the group on 24 points. They played each other in the last game – Shane’s win gave Melvin Pool a chance and his win over Philip Haigh sees him take 2nd on goal difference over Jack.
Group B
Ant Donafee and Emma Carr had already confirmed the two qualifying places in this group.
Group C
Peter Donnelly and James Ledger had already qualified – James had to beat Peter by 33 points to take top spot – a 74-74 draw confirmed Peter as Group winner.
Group D
Lucas Wynne-James and Martyn Dring had both qualified. Wins for both Lucas and Martyn confirmed Lucas as the group winner.
Group E
Liam Donafee and Gisela Mowles had already been confirmed as 1st and 2nd respectively.
Group F
Greg Tarka and Peter Wooldridge had already qualified. Peter could finish as group winner if he beats Gerry Doherty in his last game, which he did to top the group on goal difference.
Group G
Jed Donafee was already confirmed as group winner. Daniel Chaderton was 2nd and his win over Paul Martin confirmed him in 2nd.
Group H
Three managers – Chris Newman, Emma Bisset and Graeme Tinker – were all level on 15 points!! Emma’s win over Chris confirmed her as Group winner. David Owen’s win over Dan Worthington saw David grab the other place.
