The final of the knockout cup was played over the weekend of 13th May. It was contested by Christopher Grierson and David Weston.
Christopher got off to a good start by correctly predicting a 2-0 win for Manchester United over Wolves – David had forecast 3-0. David then took the lead as he got Villa to beat Spurs 2-1 bang on – Christopher had a 1-1 draw. They both said Chelsea would beat Forest but a draw meant neither got a point. Christopher then made sure they were level pegging as he got 2 points for his forecast of Fulham to beat Southampton 2-0 – David had tipped a draw (it finished 2-1).
On Sunday, David had tipped Everton to get beat 2-1 by City but unfortunately for him, Christopher got it correct with 3-0. Neither of them foresaw a Brighton win over Arsenal so Christopher wins the final 12-9. Commiserations (and £20) to David. Congratulations (and £60) to Christopher who now waits to see if he can make it a cup double this coming weekend, 20th May.
All prizes will be paid at the end of the season. The full tournament can be viewed here.
