7th-8th October
26 players are still standing for Round 8 – the last one before another international break. Six different teams have been picked this week (one of them by default) – it’s getting a lot tougher now and a few risks have to be taken!
The Saturday lunchtime game kicks off the action in this round as Tottenham
welcome Luton to the Tottenham Stadium – six players are hoping Spurs can manage
to win this without VAR cock-ups. In the 3pm games, Everton host Bournemouth at
Goodison Park – Andrew Emmett, Craig Milton, Dave Rogers and Michael Thomas are
hoping that the Blues can bounce back from last week’s defeat. Fulham play
Sheffield United at Craven Cottage – seven players have picked the Cottagers.
Manchester United take on Brentford at Old Trafford – Andrew Carter, Becci
Morton, Gerry Doherty, Paul Hallet and Stuart Davies have picked United. There
is a Midlands Derby as Wolves entertain Aston Villa at Molineux – Pauline
Jackson has picked Villa to triumph, no selection was submitted from Dave
Hegarty so he gets Villa by default (and denies Pauline the opportunity of
winning the pot if everyone else lost!). In the tea-time game, Crystal Palace
face Nottingham Forest at Selhurst Park – Adam Dealing and Paul Maiden have
picked the Eagles.
There is an international break next week.
