LMS – Game 3 – Round 4 Results

Web Site LMS Rules LMS Hall of Fame

3rd-5th February

74 players were still standing for Round 4. Ten different teams were picked in this round – every game featured.

This round kicked off with a Saturday lunchtime game as Everton hosted Tottenham at Goodison Park – Martin Brown and Tony Raybould had picked Spurs but they go out after a last minute equaliser, resulting 2-2. In the 3pm games, Brighton had their derby with Crystal Palace at the Amex – Adele Jones, Dave Nicholls, Jackie Milton and John Roberts had picked the Seagulls and they eased through with a 4-1 win. Burnley took on Fulham at Turfmoor – Craig Milton had picked Fulham but he goes out after another late equaliser and a 2-2 draw. Newcastle faced Luton at St James’ Park – 46 players had picked the Toon but a remarkable 4-4 draw sees them all drop out. In the tea-time game, Sheffield United welcomed Aston Villa to Bramhall Lane – Damian Walsh, Gemma Jackson, Hayley Beaton and Lynn Storer had picked the Villa. No pick was submitted by Dave Latham so he got Villa by default. They go through after a 5-0 win.
On Sunday, Bournemouth hosted Nottingham Forest at the Vitality Stadium – 7 players had picked the Cherries but a 1-1 draw means they exit. Chelsea faced Wolves at Stamford Bridge – Dave Goodall, Gary Storer, Jenny Rothwell and Paul Barlow had picked Chelsea and a 4-2 defeat sees them drop out. Manchester United played West Ham at Old Trafford – Joey O’Brien, Robin Horsler and Steve Smith had picked United (the Manc ones) and they go through with a 3-0 win. In the 4.30 game – Arsenal welcomed Liverpool to the Emirates – Trevor Faulkner had picked the league leaders (it later transpired he had been looking at the wrong set of fixtures!!) and he goes out after a 3-1 win to the Gunners (although as a City season ticket holder, I don’t think he we’ll be too disappointed.
On Monday night, Brentford played Manchester City at the Gtech Community stadium – Kenny Rogers had picked City and he goes through after a 3-1 win.

Deadline for Round 5 is 12pm on FRIDAY 9th February.  A full update can be viewed here.
