The final took place over Gameweek 35, which kicked off on 27th April. However, there was a rearranged game between Chelsea and Spurs that was played on Thursday night so we had to wait for that game to be played for the final to conclude.
Owen Donnelly is the current league leader, while David Grice sits in 9th place, so it was always going to be a close game. It was made even closer as both teams were identical, apart from the keeper and two defenders! That made the difference in Owen’s favour as his 3 players earned 2 points each, while David’s earned just a point each – meaning the tie scored 73-70 in Owen’s favour. David has also used a couple of extra transfers, meaning he had 8 points docked, so the net result was 73-62 to Owen.
Congratulations (and £75!!) to Owen!! Comisserations (and £25) to David!
Prizes to be paid out at the end of the season.
