LMS – Game 5 – Round 5 Results

Web Site LMS Rules LMS Hall of Fame
3rd-6th May

37 players were still standing for Round 5. Nine different teams have been picked in this round – only the Brentford v Fulham game didn’t feature.

We kicked off with a Friday night game this week as Luton entertained Everton at Kenilworth Road – Neil Taggart was hoping for a 4th consecutive win for the Blues but a 1-1 draw sees him drop out.
On Saturday afternoon, in the lunchtime game, Arsenal took on Bournemouth at the Emirates – 21 players had picked the Gunners and they progress with a 3-0 win. In the 3pm games, Burnley took on Newcastle at Turfmoor – Andrew Wilkinson and Olly Woodward had picked the Magpies and they go through after a 4-1 win. Sheffield United faced Nottingham Forest at Bramhall Lane – Dan Milton, Jack Horsler and Pauline Jackson had picked Forest to win and they also go through, after a 3-1 win. In the evening game, Manchester City played Wolves at the Etihad – Josh Wignall had picked City and he eases through with a 5-1 win.
On Sunday, Brighton welcomed Aston Villa to the Amex – Gary Storer was hoping Villa could continue their push for a top 4 finish but a 1-0 defeat sees him drop out. No entry was received from Peter Donnelly so he got Villa as his default selection and also exits. A London derby saw Chelsea host West Ham at Stamford Bridge – Joey O’Brien, Tony Raybould and Tony Smith had gone for the Blues and a 5-0 win puts them through. In the later game, Liverpool played Tottenham at Anfield – Jackie Milton, Kenny Rogers and Steve Smith had picked the Reds and a 4-2 win sees them through.
Finally, on Monday night, Crystal Palace welcomed Manchester United to Selhurst Park – Ewan White had picked the Eagles here and goes through with a comfortable 4-0 win.

3 players drop out, leaving 34 players still standing for Round 6. A few people have asked what happens if this game does not complete – there is a rule that states “Should two or more participants remain standing after the final league games of the season then the prize pot will be equally shared among them.
