15 players were still standing for Round 5 as we resumed action after the November international break. Seven different teams had been picked in this round.

On Saturday, in the lunchtime game, Leicester hosted Chelsea at the King Power Stadium – Nick Carr had picked the Londoners and a 1-0 win was enough to see him through. In the 3pm games, Arsenal faced Nottingham Forest at the Emirates – Chris Grierson, Kevin Murphy, Martin McShane, and Steve Watson had picked the Gunners and they ease through with a 3-0 win. Aston Villa played Crystal Palace at Villa Park – Gisela Mowles, James Grierson, and Tony Smith had picked Villa but they drop out after a 2-2 draw. Fulham welcomed Wolves to Craven Cottage – Jonny Trash and Joel Wilkinson had picked the Cottagers but a 4-1 sees them drop out.
On Sunday, it was bottom v top as Southampton played Liverpool at St Mary’s – Andrew Wilkinson and Ken Nelson had picked the league leaders and a 3-2 was enough to put them through. In the later game, Ipswich faced Manchester United at Portman Road – Peter Donnelly was hoping Ruben Amorim got off to a winning start but a 1-1 draw sees him exit.
We then had to wait until Monday night as Newcastle took on West Ham at St James’ Park – Steve Smith and Tony Raybould had picked the Magpies but a 2-0 win for the Hammers sees them also drop out.

Eight players drop out, leaving just seven players left standing for Round 6. Deadline for Round 6 is Friday 29th November at noon. Also, an early warning (if we get that far!) that Round 7 is a midweek set of games so anyone still standing after Round 6 will need a quick turnaround! A full update can be viewed here. You can see who has what teams left to pick at the foot of this mail.
