Fantasy Footy League Cup – Gameweek 13

The penultimate round of the competition took place over the weekend of 15th-17th December. A full schedule can be viewed here. The Premier League have finally made a decision about the Bournemouth v Luton abandoned game – that will now be fully replayed later in the season. As such, any points earned from Bournemouth and Luton players last weekend have been cancelled and substitutions effected.
The final round of games is this coming weekend, 21st-24th December.

Latest results and tables can be viewed here.

GROUP A
This is a very tight group with 5th place still able to grab a spot. The top 2 – Stephen Powell and Michael Grierson play each other – a draw would be enough for Stephen but a defeat means he could be overtaken. 3rd placed Steve Smith faces 4th placed Jordan Laite – a win for Steve would see him qualify at one of the top 2’s expense. A win for Jordan would see him win if Michael doesn’t win his game. 5th placed Albert Au has an outside chance if Michael loses and Steve and Jordan draw – but he would need a good turnaround in his goal difference.

GROUP B
Martin Grierson has qualified (and should be group winner barring a disaster with goal difference). Matt Davies occupies 2nd place but can be caught by David Grice or Michael Agnew. Matt needs to beat Martin otherwise David or Michael could take 2nd place – David plays Nick Carr, with Michael playing Jack Lockley with goal difference going to be crucial.

GROUP C
James Ledger and Martyn Dring have both qualified. Martyn has completed his games, James needs to avoid defeat by 39 points to stay top.

GROUP D
Greg Tarka has already won the group – only losing one of his 12 games. Ste Corbett is 2nd, but is level on points with Owen Donnelly. Ste plays Peter Donnelly while Owen plays Paul Hallett. Peter could go through if Owen gets beat and he wins by 32 points or more.

GROUP E
David Nicholls and Jono Matthews have both qualified from this group. Jono could snatch top spot if he beats Melvin Pool and Dave is beaten by Ewan White and can turn the goal difference around.

GROUP F
Gerry Doherty sits top on 22 points, with Alfie Lockley a point behind. Gary Sharp is 3rd on 19 points. Gerry plays Chris Mowles, Alfie plays Lewis Donnelly and Gary plays Liam Donafee – Gary can sneak through if he wins and Alfie doesn’t. It would take a massive goal difference swing for Gary to oust Gerry out of qualifying.

GROUP G
Nothing to play for in this group – Emma Bissett sits top of the group on 24 points with Reece Turner 2 points behind, but Reece has completed all of his games. They have both qualified.

GROUP H
Marc Boardman sits top on 24 points – he has qualified. Omar Khalil is 3 points behind on 21 points. Lucas Wynne-James is on 18 points – Lucas plays Marc, he can qualify if he beats Marc and Omar is beaten by Damian Walsh and turns a goal difference of 25 around. Omar can take top spot if he wins and Marc gets beaten.

Fantasy Footy League Cup – Gameweek 13

Gameweek 13 was being played last weekend – 15th/17th December. I have gone to update the scores but the week is still open – they haven’t run substitutions etc yet. I suspect they are waiting to make a decision about what to do with the Bournemouth v Luton points, which was abandoned on Saturday.

They have posted the following message on the site – will just need to keep an eye on their final decision!

LMS – Game 2 – Round 6 Results

15th-17th December

11 players were still standing for Round 6. Three different teams were picked this week – nobody could pick Arsenal.

We had a Friday night game in this round as Nottingham Forest hosted Tottenham at the City Ground – Carl Jackson, David Hegarty, Paul Maiden and Shaun Magee had picked Spurs and they progress after a 2-0 win.
On Saturday, in the 3pm games, Bournemouth faced Luton at the Vitality Stadium – Paul Boddy had picked the Cherries but the game was abandoned after 65 minutes. I don’t have a rule to cover this but rule 10 covers postponements and I will treat this the same, so Paul goes through. Chelsea welcomed Sheffield United to Stamford Bridge – Emma Ainsworth, Kevin Robinson, Martin Brown, Paul Allman, Paul Giles and Peter Carter had picked the Blues and they go through after a 2-0 win.

An early warning with the Christmas schedule about to land on us – Round 7 starts on a Thursday night so deadline for Round 6 is changed to 12pm on THURSDAY 21st December. Rounds 7, 8 and 9 all follow on quickly from each other – deadlines are noted against the fixtures in the full update, which can be viewed here.

Super 6 League Cup – Gameweek 9

The 9th (and penultimate) round of group fixtures took place over the weekend of 9th/10th December.

Results and updated tables can be viewed here.

Gameweek 10 is the final round and is the weekend of 23rd December.

Group A
Tony Raybould and Jordan Laite occupy the top two places – Lynsey Harrison has to win her game and hope one of them two slip up to grab a place.

Group B
Martin Grierson is almost sure of qualifying – it would take a swing of 29 points to be caught on goal difference. Lee Abbott is 2nd and could be overtaken by Paul Barlow or David Grice – Lee plays David.

Group C
This group is already settled with Ste Matthews and Peter Carroll not being able to be caught – just who finished top now.

Group D
Shaun Magee and Paul Maiden top the table – Shaun can still be caught by Paul Murphy, who plays Paul M, and has a better goal difference than Shaun.

Group E
Matthew Saveall has already qualified – Richard Gibbon is 2nd but could get overtaken by Stuart Davies – who plays Matthew in his final game.

Group F
Really tight this group. Trevor Faulkner is top on 11 points – he has played his final game though! Michael Grierson, Graham Healey and Melvin Pool all sit a point behind on 10 points. Chris Newman is bottom on 8 point but even he has a very outside chance of qualifying if he beats Graham heavily and Michael and Melvin were to draw.

Group G
This group is already over. David Nicholls has already qualified in 1st place, with Peter Wooldridge in 2nd place and can’t be caught

Group H
Gary Nelson has already qualified in 1st place. Neil Metcalf sits in 2nd – he can only be caught by Lauren Haigh – they both play each other in the final round so Lauren can progress if she wins.

LMS – Game 2 – Round 5 Results

Web Site LMS Rules LMS Hall of Fame

9th-10th December

30 players were still standing for Round 5. Five different teams were picked this week – one of them by default.

On Saturday, in the 3pm games, Brighton took on Burnley at the Amex – 13 players had picked the Seagulls but they drop out after a 1-1 draw. Manchester United faced Bournemouth at Old Trafford – Ben Donafee, Gisela Mowles, Jack Horsler and Ste Milton had picked United but they crash out after a 3-0 defeat. Wolves hosted Nottingham Forest at Molineux – Cameron Green and Paul Barlow had picked Wolves but they also dropped out after a 1-1 draw. In the teatime game, Aston Villa had the task of extending their winning home run against Arsenal at Villa Park – no entry was received from Peter Carter so he gets Villa by default and goes through after a 1-0 win.
Onto Sunday, in the 2pm games, Luton welcomed Manchester City to Kenilworth Road – 10 players were hoping City could get back to winning ways after their recent run of form, which they did with a 2-1 win. At half-time I thought we would just have Peter Carter left standing – there is a rule that states you can’t win with a default pick so he would have had to have faced a solo round next week.

In the end, we lost 19 players in this round, leaving 11 players still standing for Round 6. Deadline for Round 6 is back to the normal time of 12pm on FRIDAY 15th December. Arsenal cannot be picked by any of the remaining players..  A full update can be viewed here.
