27th-29th October
We were down to the last 7 players still standing as we hit Round 10. Nobody could pick Manchester City or Tottenham – three different teams were picked this week.
On Saturday, in the lunchtime game, there was a London Derby as Chelsea took on Brentford at Stamford Bridge – Albert Au had picked the Blues but he goes out after a 2-0 defeat. In the 3pm games, Arsenal hosted Sheffield United at the Emirates – Ralph Dealing had picked the Gunners and he eased through with a 5-0 win.
On Sunday, Aston Villa faced Luton Town at Villa Park – Andrew Emmett, John Roberts, Lauren Haigh, Michael Thomas and Ross Milton had picked Villa knowing anything but a win would mean Ralph would take the pot but a 3-1 win for Villa means we have 6 players still standing for Round 11!!
Deadline for Round 11 is
noon
on
Friday 3rd November. Aston Villa and Chelsea join Manchester City and Tottenham as clubs that can’t be selected.

21st-23rd October
As we returned from the international break, 22 players were still standing for Round 9. All teams were still available for selection – four different teams were picked this week.
In the 3pm games, Brentford played Burnley at the Gtech Community stadium – Ross Milton had picked the Bees and he eased through after a 3-0 win. Newcastle took on Crystal Palace at St James’ Park – Albert Au, Andrew Emmett and Ralph Dealing had picked the Magpies to beat the Eagles and a 4-0 win saw them through. Nottingham Forest hosted Luton at the City Ground – 15 players had picked Forest and it looked plain sailing as they took a 2 goal lead but two late Luton goals saw just over two thirds of the remaining players drop out. On Saturday night, Sheffield United welcomed Manchester United to Bramhall Lane – John Roberts, Lauren Haigh and Michael Thomas had picked the Mancs and they go through with a 2-1 win.
15 players drop out meaning we are now down to single figures with just 7
players left standing for Round 10!

21st-23rd October
As we return from the international break, 22 players are still standing for Round 9. Surprisingly, at this stage, all teams are still available for selection – four different teams have been picked this week. The old adage of “form book goes out of the window” stood firm as no-one touched the Merseyside derby (I know at least one Red and one Blue who could have picked Liverpool this week!!).
In the 3pm games, Brentford play Burnley at the Gtech Community stadium – Ross
Milton has picked the Bees. Newcastle take on Crystal Palace at St James’ Park –
Albert Au, Andrew Emmett and Ralph Dealing have picked the Magpies to beat the
Eagles. Nottingham Forest host Luton at the City Ground – 15 players have picked
Forest.
On Sunday, in the early game, Sheffield United welcome Manchester United to
Bramhall Lane – John Roberts, Lauren Haigh and Michael Thomas have picked the
Mancs.
This set of selections means that Ross Milton has the potential to take the pot
in this round should results go his way!
