Just to reiterate a point raised last week over penalty misses. I used an old entry form in my rush to get this competition launched – which didn’t include penalty misses in the points scoring. Despite that, I am counting these as they have been part of the last couple of tournaments – 5 points for a keeper saving a penalty and 3 points deducted from a player missing a penalty. Round 2 of games kicked off today, with another 4 games played.

Just to clarify a query someone raised this morning over penalty misses. I used an old entry form in my rush to get this competition launched – which didn’t include penalty misses in the points scoring. Despite that, I am counting these – 5 points for a keeper saving a penalty and 3 points deducted from a player missing a penalty. There has been two missed penalties so far – Alphonso Davies and Robert Lewandowski, both had theirs saved (by Thibaut Courtois and Daizen Maeda, respectively).

WALES 0 IRAN 2
No-one had either of the Iranian goalscorers but Chris Mowles and Kevin Robinson get points from Mehdi Taremi’s assist. James Grierson, Gary Nelson and Lauren Haigh get a clean sheet from Ehsan Hajsaf, as does Jason Harrison from Milad Mohammadi. Ben Corrie and Shaun Sparkes lose points from Alireza Jahanbakhsh’s booking (and he is now suspended for their next game).

QATAR 0 SENEGAL 1
No-one had the scorer of Qatar’s 1st ever World Cup finals goal – Mohammed Muntari. Chris Mowles loses points from Homam Ahmed’s booking.
Nobody had either of the first two Senegalese goal scorers. Ben Corrie gets points from Bamba Dieng’s goal. Robin Horsler loses points from Pathé Ciss’s booking.
