LMS – Game 1 – Round 7

It has just been confirmed that this weekend’s Premier League games are now cancelled. This round will now be voided and the teams submitted by the ten players still standing for this weekend are still available for selection for the next round. Round 7 will now be the games over the weekend of 16/18 September, unless there is a further announcement this week regarding those games.

A heads up that I am away for 10 days from Sunday – I should be able to access my emails etc from abroad so will still get updates out – except they may not be as prompt as usual! Seeing as there are two Friday games, and I don’t know what my availability will be like, deadline will be Thursday 15th September at 5pm (and I will get the update out when I can after that!). If next week’s games are cancelled then we will have to wait for the fixtures at the start of October, after the international break.

Super 6 Cup Comps

As advised in my mail on 25th August, I was getting a couple of rounds of games out the way to let the league table take some shape. I have now done the draw for both the Super 6 League Cup and the Super 6 Knockout cups. Both draws were seeded, based on league placings, as at 5th September. By the way, there is a midweek set of Super 6 games this week on the Champions League games – don’t forget to keep an eye out for midweek rounds!

League Cup
For the League Cup, it was straight forward, 1st into Group A, 2nd into Group B, etc. This has resulted in 3 groups of 6 teams and 5 groups of 5 teams. Each team will play each other twice. The full draw and fixtures can be viewed here. You will go head to head, as per the fixtures and your score that weekend will determine your score against your opponent. The winner will receive £60, with the runner-up getting £20.

Knockout Cup
The draw was based on 43 teams. The top 21 teams in the league (as at 5th September) were given a bye to the 2nd round. The other 22 teams have to play an extra round – on 5th November – the 11 winners will join the other 21 teams in the next round. Full fixtures and draw can be viewed here. The winner will receive £60, with the runner-up getting £20. In the event of a draw, a replay will be played the following week. In the event of a drawn replay then the tie will be determined by the number of correct results, followed by the nearest guess to the Golden Goal.

Fantasy Footy – League Cup

The draw was seeded based on league placings, as at 5th September. Straight forward, 1st into Group A, 2nd into Group B, etc. This has resulted in 6 groups of 7 teams and 2 groups of 6 teams. Each team will play each other twice. The full draw and fixtures can be viewed here. You will go head to head, as per the fixtures and your score that weekend will determine your score against your opponent. The winner will receive £75, with the runner-up getting £25. The Knockout competition will kick in in the New Year, administered by the Premier League website.

I had previously said the competition would start on fixtures over the weekend of 17th September, but I had miscalculated the number of rounds needed – so it will now start this coming weekend – 10th September. Get looking at your transfer options!

All selections are in – tough set of fixtures this week with most of the “big” teams picked (although one player could have still played Manchester City but has saved that for a future round).

All entries in for this midweek round. Games on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday – although no-one picked the Thursday game. So, the next update will hopefully be out on Wednesday night.

All picks are in. All featured games are on Saturday so I should hopefully get the next update out after the 3pm games (time permitting and depending what type of mood I am in after the Liverpool game!).

Round 5 is the upcoming midweek games (Tuesday to Thursday) – deadline will be Tuesday 30th August at 5pm. This also means that it will be quickly followed by Round 6, with a noon deadline on Friday 2nd September. Feel free to send me your picks for both rounds if you make it through.

Super 6 Cup Comps

A quick update. Three rounds of games have been played already and the league is starting to take shape. I am sure you are all keeping an eye on it but the link to the league table is here.

All payments received (well, bar one but I know I’ll get it from him eventually!) so it is now confirmed as 44 participants in the league, so that means £440 prize monies.

The prize pot will be split as below:
League
1st – £140
2nd – £65
3rd – £40
4th – £20
5th – £15

Knockout & League Cups
Winner – £60
Runner-up – £20

I will be looking to start the cups soon. I will be seeding the draws, based on the league placings after the games played in the round of games over 3rd/4th September – giving you another 3 rounds of games to make a move up that table! I am on holiday from 11th September for 10 days so to make things easier for me, I will kick off the cup comps with the games from the weekend of 17th September. I am avoiding weeks where there FA cup games etc. If you didn’t play last season – on a given cup weekend, your score will be put head to head against your opponent to create a result. I will publish the draws week commencing 5th September.
